賓語從句：在句子中起賓語作用的從句，也就是賓語不是一個單詞，而是一個句子。
從屬連詞：that，if，whether.
連接代詞：who，whom，whose，what.
連接副詞：when，where，why，how.
例句
He told me (that) he would go to college the next year. 他告訴我，他明年要上大學。
主句缺少直接賓語部分，他告訴我“什么”，這個“什么”並沒有簡單用一個單詞概括，而是使用了賓語從句代替了直接賓語，詳細說明這個直接賓語。
使用賓語從句時，要使用一個關系詞（指上面列舉的三種）連接前面的部分和后面的賓語從句。

that可以不翻譯意思而且可省略，if/whether翻譯為" 是否 ".
例句
1. He said that he was there yesterday. 他說昨天他不在那。
he主語，said謂語，主句缺失賓語，后面使用了賓語從句代替賓語，使用賓語從句要使用關系詞連接前后部分，而且that在賓語從句作關系詞時可省略。
2. He doesn't know if/whether he was there. 他不知道他是否在那。
從屬連詞總結：由whether(if)引導的賓語從句，實際上是一般疑問句演變而來的。意思是“是否”。賓語從句要用陳述句語序。
一般說來，在賓語從句中whether與if可以互換使用，但在特殊情況下if與whether是不能互換的。
情況1：只能用whether，不能用if引導的賓語從句
1. 在帶to的不定式前 例句：We decided whether to walk there. 我們決定是否去那里。
2. 在介詞的后面 例句：I’m thinking of whether we should go to see the film. 我在考慮我們是否應該去看電影。
3. 在動詞后面的賓語從句時 例句：We discussed whether we had a sports meeting next week. 我們討論了是否下周舉行運動會。
4. 直接與or not連用時 例句：I can’t say whether or not they can come on time. 我不能說他們是否可以准時到達。

情況2：只能用if不能用whether引導的賓語從句：

例句：He asked if I didn’t come to school yesterday.

1. Do you know who has won the game? 你知道誰贏了比賽嗎？
賓語從句缺少主語，使用連接代詞who，who可以作主語
2. Do you know whom he likes? 你知道他喜歡誰嗎？
賓語從句后面缺少賓語，所以使用賓格代詞whom
3. Do you know whose book it is? 你知道這本書是誰的？
賓語從句的主語如果是物，通常關系詞用whose，譯為....的，這里是誰的書（whose book）
4. Do you know what he is looking at ? 你知道他在看什么？
賓語從句缺少賓語，what作賓語，譯為：什么 。怎么區分缺少賓語時，應該使用哪個關系詞呢，通常只能根據句子意思，推測賓語的意思，從而使用相應的關系詞。
連接副詞：when，where，why，how
例句
1. He wants to know when the party is. 他想知道宴會是什么時候。
when作時間狀語。
2. He wants to know where the party is. 他想知道宴會在哪里。
where作地點狀語
3. He wants to know why they have a party. 他想知道為什么舉辦宴會。
why作原因狀語
4. He wants to know how they come. 他想知道他們怎么來的。
how在這里譯為：怎么，修飾come
練習：
1. He doesn't know that/if/whether she is at school. 他不知道她在學校。/他不知道她是否在學校。
句子成分完整，可用that關系詞連接定語從句，因為that不用翻譯。/ 或者使用if/whether，增加不確定性。
2. He wants to know whom/where she is. 他想知道她是誰。/他想知道她在哪里。
賓語從句缺少賓語，使用連接代詞whom表人物。或者使用連接副詞where表地點。
3. He wants to know how she comes. 他想知道她怎么來。
when 他想知道她什么時候來。
why 他想知道她為什么來。
4. He wants to know what/whether/if she is reading. 他想知道她正在讀什么。 / 他想知道她是否正在讀書。
5. He wants to know whose book it is. 他想知道書是誰的。
