多數要去 e:

去 e 不去 e 均可:mov(e)able

ce、ge 結尾的不用去 e:agreeable changeable knowledgeable(這個詞不在維克多里) noticeable

原理

元音字母 a、e、i、o、u、y(y 是半元音字母)分為硬元音 a、o、u 和軟元音 e、i、y,這種分法主要針對 c、g 的讀音規則而言。
我們把 a、o、u 前的 c 稱為“硬C”,發/k/音;e、i、y 前的 c 稱為“軟C”,發/s/音。
同理,a、o、u 前的 g 稱為“硬G”,發/g/音;e、i、y 前的 g 稱為“軟G”,發/dʒ/音。
(英語中只有極少部份 gi、ge、gy 存在例外)

正是由於這一條發音規則,所以才有了加-able時,碰到ce、ge結尾的字時不去e,如果去掉了e,則c、g與a相拼,會發成硬音的/k/和/g/。
