I have seen it in many pics of programmers, blog posts etc.

A cat takes more interest in your code than your spouse or your boss.
喵星人會陪着你敲代碼，而你的老婆、你的老板不會。Cats don't mind watching you code for hours on end. In fact, they find it comforting and will fall asleep nearby.
喵星人會趴在旁邊看你敲代碼...然后就睡着了（可能是看別人敲代碼是件極其享受的事）A cat will take a keen interest in the cursor moving on the screen if it catches their attention.
喵星人會用爪子去抓屏幕上移動的光標，當然是什么都抓不到，哈哈（智商感人）。Cats love keyboards.
喵星人喜歡玩鍵盤。If you leave your coding post for a few minutes and return, your cat will be sitting on your chair and will look at you and say, "Are you really going to keep up this pitiful charade of coding, or do I have to show you how it's done?"
當你離開電腦一會會，回來就會發現喵星人正愜意的躺在你的椅子上，盯着你看，一臉得意，好像在說：“敲代碼簡直比猜字謎還痛苦，需要我來告訴你該怎么做嘛？”Like programmers, cats don't really have time for full meals. They nibble throughout the day.
跟程序員一樣，喵星人也沒有固定的吃飯時間，有時間就吃點。A cat's measure of success, like software, is inversely proportional to the expenditure of energy needed to get things done.
喵星人很注重效率。When a cat has no more interest in what is going on at the keyboard, he walks away and finds someplace to sleep, as does the programmer.
喵星人累了會找個地方睡覺，這點跟程序員很相似。If you work all night to solve a particular coding requirement and you succeed, your cat will come running into the kitchen and celebrate with you at 4:00am with a bowl of cream.
當花了一整晚解決技術難題，即使是在凌晨 4 點，喵星人也會跟你一起慶祝，前提是得給他准備一碗牛奶（吃貨）。

There's an old joke that fits the bill.
先給大家講個笑話。
A programmer finds a frog and picks it up. To his astonishment, the frog speaks.
有一天，程序員發現一只青蛙，令他驚訝的是這只青蛙竟然會說話。
- "Kiss me and I'll turn into a princess."
- “親我一下，我就會變成公主。”
The programmer puts it in his pocket and moves on. The ignored frog speaks again.
程序員沒理青蛙，而是把青蛙放到包里走了。走着走着，青蛙又說話了。
- "Kiss me and I'll turn into a princess. I'll even kiss you and let you hold my hand for a day."
- “你親我一下，讓我變成公主。或者你讓我親一下，我讓你牽一天我的手。”
Once again ignored, the frog ups the stakes.
程序員又一次無視了青蛙的話。青蛙開始曉之以理，動之以情。
- "Alright, turn me into a princess and I'll be your girlfriend for a week. You can even show me to your friends."
- “好吧，你幫我變成公主，我就答應當你一星期的女朋友。你甚至可以把我帶去向你的朋友們炫耀。”
No response.
沒有回應（沉默...）
- "Seriously, guy, I'm hot. I'll have sex with you, I'll tell all your friends we did it and you were awesome, you can use me as a trophy to brag."
- “說真的，小伙子，我很性感。你把我變成公主，我就跟你嘿嘿嘿。你可以向朋友們炫耀，我會告訴他們你有多厲害。”
This prompted a response out of the programmer:
終於，程序員說話了：
- "Look, I'm a programmer, I don't have time for a girlfriend. But a talking frog, that's kinda cool."
- “你看，我是個程序員，我根本沒時間找女朋友。但有一只會說話的青蛙真的很酷。”
程序員內心獨白：讓我親一只青蛙，還想讓我當她女朋友，還想讓我跟她嘿嘿嘿，這只青蛙腦子沒病吧？
Same thing with cats. Cats have the greatest compromise between being human-like and low maintenance.
喵星人和人很相似，不需要花太多精力去照顧。
They feel like companions when they need to feel like companions, and they take care of themselves most of the time. They don't make noise and are perfect meditation buddies when you're coding and they're silently looking at your keypresses a couple inches over. Sometimes a problem just needs to be talked through with yourself to come up with a solution because silent thinking doesn't help, and they're perfect listeners.
大部分時間，喵星人會照顧好自己，當他們需要同伴時，他們首先會把自己變成合格的同伴。在你敲代碼的時候，他們會在旁邊安靜的趴着，不吵不鬧。當你需要自我交談來解決那些沉思解決不了的問題時，他們是很好的聆聽者。
They're extremely clean, you only need to clean up after them and replace their sustenance once per day. They'll come comfort you when you're sad (seriously) and they'll play when you want to play (mostly). They won't bother you when you don't want to be bothered. They'll even get you rid of most production-choking pests like mosquitos and flies. Living with a cat is symbiosis.
喵星人非常喜歡干凈，每天只要定時打掃喂養就行。喵星人會在你難過的時候安慰你，在你開心的時候陪着你開心，在你不想被打擾的時候默默陪伴你。有喵星人陪着的時候，甚至連惱人的蒼蠅、蚊子都沒了。這就是一種共生關系。
