other,others,another,the other的區別

 

1、other其它的，另外的，別的，做形容詞，后面可以跟復數名詞(泛指人和物，沒有一個特定的范圍)。

I don't care about other things。別的事我不在乎。

Other students are against this plan.其他的同學反對這個計划

 

2、the other,另一個，另一些，(特定范圍里的另一些人或者物，特別是兩個中的另一個)，后面可以跟單數亦可跟復數。

He has one shoulder a little higher than the other .他一個肩膀比另一個肩膀略高。(代詞)
He has two daughters, one is a doctor,the other is a teacher他有兩個女兒,一個是醫生,一個是老師。(代詞)

He mixes well with the other students他和其他同學都相處的很好。(用作形容詞)
3、others=other +復數名詞，(泛指其它的，另外的)這里做代詞，可以做主語，賓語。

 

Don't force your opinion on others(other people).不要把你的觀念強加於別人。

He is always at cross-purposes with others(other ones).他總是跟大家擰着干。

We should learn lessons by the mistakes of others.我們應當從別人的錯誤中吸取經驗教訓。

(注意:這里的其他人都是沒有一個固定范圍的,是泛指的)

 

4、the others=the other +復數名詞，其余的，(表示在一個特定范圍里的其它全部)。代詞

 

In ability,he surpasses  the others(the other students) in the class在能力上，他超過班上的其他所有同學。

I'll be back him agains the others.我將支持他反對其他所有人。

 

  5、another,又一個,另一個，和the other 不同，the other指兩個中的另一個，another指不定數目中的另一個(三個以上)，可以做形容詞，代詞

 

There is another job to do.還有另一項工作要做。(很多工作中的一個),做形容詞。

This glass is broken ,give me another.這個杯子破了,給我另外一個。(很多杯子中的其中一個)，做代詞。

二：Another pair of shoes，另當別論。

三：another realm,世外桃源,另一個境界，另一個天堂。

 

Learn to enjoy solitude,life will enter another realm.學會享受孤獨，人生會進入另一個境界。
