https://github.com/microsoft/vscode-jupyter/wiki/Failure-to-start-Kernel-due-to-Modules-not-installed
Python kernels can fail to start if some modules such as ptyprocess, ipykernel, pyzmq, etc are not installed.
Recommended solution(s)
- Please consider installing the missing modules.
- If they have already been installed, its possible it hasn't been installed correct, hence try the reinstall option as follows:
python -m pip install <xyz> -U --force-reinstall
conda install --name <environment name> <xyz> --update-deps --force-reinstall
(if using Conda environments)
- It is possible the Python environment is corrupted. This could happen when mixing
pip
install with conda environments. You might want to consider using another Python environment (such as a new conda environment). - It is possible you are using the wrong Python environment. Please review the Python environment selected in the kernel picker (generally displayed on the top right hand corner of the notebook).
