1、in：泛指一般意義的上午、下午或晚上 以及月 或年 等較長的時間；表示地點的時候，表示在地點名詞內部

2、on：用於星期、某一特定的日期(包括該天的各部分)；表示地點的時候，表示接觸的“上方”，

on Monday morning / afternoon / evening：星期一的早上/下午/晚上
on the night of May 1st：五月一日當晚
3、at：表示時間的某一點、某一時刻或年齡等；地點表達“在哪兒”

at dusk (黃昏)
at dawn/daybreak (黎明)
at breakfast/lunch/supper (在早餐時/午餐時/晚餐時)

4、特殊：
at school：在學校（上學）
in the school：在這個學校里（有事兒）
at church：在教堂（做禮拜）
in the church：在這個教堂里面（有事兒）

“在周末”既可以說at weekends，也可以說on weekends。
需要特別注意的是：at，on都可用來表示“節假日”，但at側重指“休假的時節”，而不是指具體的哪一天；on側重指具體的時日，與它連用的短語中多含“Day”
