between 只能用於兩者嗎

一般說來，between指兩bai者，among指三者。du但是在現代英語中，among表示三zhi者(以上)的“在…dao…中間”，其賓語通常是一個表示籠統數量或具有復數意義的名詞或代詞：among the children 在孩子們中間 / among the crowd 在人群中【歸納】下列情況between可用於三者(且一般不用among換)：

1. 三者或三者以上的人或物用and連接時：Switzerland lies between France，Italy，Austria and Germany. 瑞士位於法、意、奧、德四國之間。

2. 對於三者或三者以上的人或物，若要表示在每兩者之間(即彼此之間)時：Don’t eat anything between meals. 在正餐之間不要吃零食。

3. 指事物間的區別或彼此間的關系時：Do you know the difference between the three? 你知道這三者之間的區別嗎?

4. 表示由於共同合作的結果時：Between them they landed the fish. 他們協力把魚拖上了岸。
