prove “證明”,普通用詞,泛指有充分的、可靠的事實證明某一觀點或結論是正確
的。可用作及物動詞,后接賓語或賓語從句。
1) Galileo proved the law of falling objects to the world from the leaning tower
in Pizza.
伽利略在比薩斜塔證明物體落體定律。
2) The data obtained clearly proves that the proposed method is far better than
the traditional one.

prove 可用作系動詞,后接“to be + 形容詞或名詞”,to be 可省略,意為“證明
是”。
1) The task seemed to be easy but proved to be difficult.
這項任務似乎很容易,但被證明是很困難的。
2) I imagine that it would prove (to be) a very easy task.
我想這將證明是一個很容易的任務。
turn out 用法與系動詞 prove 相同,表示“證明是”、“結果是”、“原來是”
的意思。這一短語可以轉化成句型 “It turns out that ……..”。
1) The person I spoke to turned out to be our new teacher.
