By default, WinRar uses the RAR archive format for compressing files. You may prefer using the more popular ZIP archive format instead. Here’s how to change the default archive format from RAR to ZIP:
1. Open WinRar.
2. Click Options and select Settings.
3. Select the Compression tab.
4. In the Compression profiles section, click the Create default button.
5. Select the General tab.
6. Under Archive format, select the ZIP radio button.
7. Click OK.
8. Click OK to close the Settings window.
