另外，只有Amazon自營（Sold by Amazon.com）出售的商品才可以通過LIVE CHAT的方式向客服要求價格保護，第三方出售的商品如果發現降價是無法再申請價格保護的。另外，申請價格保護的有效時間通常是在下完訂單后，到商品SHIPPED發貨之間的時間段，不過老白也嘗試過在商品簽收了近一個星期再要求降價補償也同樣成功的，所以其實這個時間段並未限制得太死，還是比較靈活的。
